Sardaunan Sarkin Hausawa, a prominent northern social and political commentator, Residents and influencers in northern Nigeria are making their position loud and clear ahead of the next presidential race.

They will not support President Bola Tinubu or any Muslim Muslim combination claiming the previous one left them disappointed and betrayed.

The viral video, it declares that northerners have learned their lesson and refuse to repeat the mistake that brought the current administration to power. The accompanying video features intense reactions from local men dressed in traditional outfits adding emotional weight to the message.

The post reads We will not vote for Tinubu or any Muslim Muslim ticket in 2027. They have betrayed us with Muslim Muslim but we are wiser now and we will not fall for such again.

This rejection highlights growing anger over poor living conditions, high food prices insecurity and lack of real progress under the current government. Many in the north who supported the same faith ticket in 2023 now say it failed to bring the expected benefits and instead deepened divisions.

Broader voices across the region have echoed similar concerns. Northern groups and individuals have openly warned against repeating the Muslim Muslim formula arguing it no longer guarantees votes. Some traditional and youth leaders insist they want candidates who deliver results on jobs security and economy rather than rely on religious pairings.

This wave of rejection adds pressure on the APC as it prepares for reelection battles. Earlier warnings from northern forums and even some party insiders already flagged the risks of sticking with the same formula. As opposition parties gear up these strong grassroots voices could force major shifts in campaign strategies.

With 2027 approaching the ruling All Progressives Congress faces tough questions about its strategy in its former strongholds.
