African Democratic Congress ADC presidential aspirant former Rivers State governor and ex transportation minister Rotimi Amaechi has come out swinging in a fresh interview saying President Bola Tinubu can be beaten easily in the 2027 presidential election if the vote is free and fair.
He points straight to the deep hunger poverty and sky-high food prices hitting ordinary people across the country as the main reason the ruling party looks weak right now.
Amaechi spoke clearly during the RFI Hausa interview where he described how markets homes campuses and motor parks are filled with frustrated Nigerians struggling to put food on the table every single day.
He said what started as a promise of renewed hope has turned into renewed hunger with fuel costs shooting through the roof electricity supplies staying poor and regular salaries unable to cover basic family needs. The former minister stressed that this hardship is real and felt by everyone making the presidency wide open for any strong challenger who gets organized.
Amaechi, urged the African Democratic Congress to stop small talk and focus on picking the most experienced and credible candidate who can connect with voters nationwide.
The former governor of Rivers state positioned himself as that viable option highlighting his background as a former speaker two term governor Nigeria Governors Forum chairman and transportation minister who delivered major rail and infrastructure projects. He believes only a national figure, not one tied to ethnic or regional appeal, can pull together the votes needed to win.
Amaechi added that whether the election is fully free or not if the ADC fields a strong ticket Tinubu will lose because ordinary citizens are desperate for change. He warned against interference in the courts and electoral body saying such moves show fear rather than confidence. The ex-governor called on opposition forces to build solid structures protect votes at polling units and turn the widespread anger over economy pains into real victory.
With coalitions forming and more politicians aligning under the ADC platform Amaechi words signal early battle lines drawn around the daily struggles of feeding families and surviving tough times. Nigerians from jobless youths to hardworking parents are watching closely as 2027 draws nearer.
