Hon. Bala Sani Kumo, the Chief of Staff to factional African Democratic Congress National Chairman Nafiu Bala Gombe, has officially picked up the party’s Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to contest for the Gombe Central Senatorial seat in the 2027 General Elections.

The move is already shaking up the political landscape in Gombe State as early political battles ahead of 2027 begin to gather momentum. Political observers believe Kumo’s entrance into the race could reshape the internal structure of the ADC and strengthen the party’s influence in Gombe Central.

Supporters across the district have welcomed the development with excitement, describing Kumo as a grassroots politician with strong leadership qualities and a clear vision for inclusive governance. Many party loyalists say his decision reflects courage, political maturity, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of the people.

Residents and stakeholders within the zone believe his growing popularity is tied to his message of unity, accountability, and people focused leadership, which continues to attract support from youths, community leaders, and party members.

Speaking shortly after collecting the nomination forms, Kumo said his decision to contest was driven by his belief that public office should be used to serve the people and not for personal gain.

He explained that democracy works best when individuals with genuine intentions step forward to offer themselves for public scrutiny and seek the mandate of the people through transparent leadership.

Kumo stated that his mission is to use his experience and leadership skills to tackle the major challenges facing Gombe Central while promoting accountability, transparency, and active public participation in governance.

The ADC chieftain also expressed confidence in his ability to effectively represent the district, stressing that his leadership style is built on consultation, openness, and respect for democratic principles.

According to him, true leadership means listening to the people, making decisions based on public interest, respecting the rule of law, and ensuring that government resources are used strictly for the benefit of citizens.

He further promised that if elected, his administration would focus on delivering visible and measurable results while ensuring that every community and group within the district has equal representation and a fair voice in governance.

Political analysts say Kumo’s emergence could trigger stronger competition within Gombe Central as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 elections.

Key issues expected to dominate the coming political campaigns include youth empowerment, infrastructure development, healthcare, education, economic growth, job opportunities, and inclusive governance.
