The Governor of Seyi Makinde has officially declared his ambition to run for president in the 2027 election under the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM.
Makinde made the announcement during a massive rally at Mapo Hall in Ibadan, where he also unveiled the Reset Nigeria Movement and launched a campaign website aimed at mobilising support across the country.
Speaking at the rally, Makinde said Nigeria needs a total reset, stressing that the country can no longer continue with old style politics. He promised to rebuild public trust, strengthen institutions and create a system that works for every Nigerian.
The governor said the Reset Nigeria agenda will focus on economic growth, job creation, quality education, healthcare, infrastructure, electricity reforms, security and stronger institutions.
According to him, Nigeria needs responsible and competent leadership that can restore hope and confidence among citizens.
Makinde also described the APM as a strong alternative for Nigerians who are tired of the current political system.
Explaining why he joined the presidential race, the Oyo governor said he wants to rescue Nigeria from its growing challenges and bring the development model used in Oyo State to the national level.
He said the declaration marks the beginning of a new chapter where fairness, progress and development will become reality for all Nigerians.
