National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has declared that his top political mission ahead of the 2027 general elections is to remove President Bola Tinubu from office.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television Sunday Politics programme, Baba Ahmed described Tinubu as bad news for Nigeria’s future and accused his administration of pushing the country deeper into hardship and insecurity.
According to him, the major goal of the PRP is to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress in the next election cycle.
Baba Ahmed said although the PRP may not be the only force capable of defeating Tinubu, the party is determined to play a major role in building a strong opposition coalition ahead of 2027.
He accused the current administration of worsening the living conditions of Nigerians, saying citizens are struggling with rising hardship, insecurity and frustration across the country. He added that Nigerians are deeply unhappy with the state of the nation and insisted the government is fully aware of the growing dissatisfaction among the people.
The PRP chairman also called on opposition leaders and political heavyweights to put aside personal ambition and unite for a common purpose. He stressed that selfish interests and internal fights over positions must be avoided if the opposition hopes to achieve a change of government in 2027.
Baba Ahmed said the opposition already has an advantage because many Nigerians are disappointed with the current administration, adding that the remaining task is for opposition parties and leaders to combine their strength, resources and energy to challenge the APC successfully in the next presidential election.
