Top contenders in the African Democratic Congress presidential primary have spoken after casting their votes in the nationwide exercise to decide the party’s candidate for the 2027 election.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar voted in Adamawa State and described the exercise as a strong sign of growing democracy within the party. He praised party members for their turnout and confidence in the process.
Former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi cast his vote in Rivers State and called for issue based politics ahead of the 2027 elections. He urged Nigerians to focus on leadership and national progress instead of ethnic divisions.
Businessman Mohammed Hayatu Deen voted in Borno State and said the country needs fresh ideas and stronger economic leadership. He added that his ambition is driven by the desire to offer Nigerians a better future.
The ADC presidential primary is taking place across thousands of wards nationwide as party delegates and members decide who will carry the party’s flag into the next presidential election.
