Chidi Achebe, son of the renowned author Chinua Achebe, has publicly endorsed the long-anticipated television adaptation of his father’s seminal work, Things Fall Apart.

He expressed gratitude for the project, stating, “To God be the Glory! We thank God for making all things possible and our late husband, Dad, and uncle for leaving the world with such a great legacy.”

His support highlights the significance of honoring his father’s literary contributions in a contemporary format.

Chidi also extended his appreciation to A24, the production company behind the adaptation, which has been in development for nearly two decades.

The series will feature Idris Elba in the lead role of Okonkwo, with David Oyelowo serving as co-producer.

This announcement comes amidst a mix of reactions regarding casting and production decisions, emphasizing the importance of faithfully representing Achebe’s legacy in this new medium.
