Nollywood actor and a lawyer, Barrister Kenneth Okonkwo, has unveiled a startling revelation regarding the 2023 general elections.

According to Okonkwo, all presidential candidates allegedly replicated the agenda set by Labour Party’s Peter Obi, hinting at a lack of originality among the contenders.

Previously serving as the spokesperson for the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, Okonkwo, a staunch supporter of the ‘Obidient’ movement, asserted that while other candidates duplicated Obi’s agenda, they failed to grasp the intricate pathways the former Governor of Anambra State envisioned for its implementation.

Okonkwo, emphasizing Peter Obi’s unique combination of vision, competence, capacity, and character, highlighted the absence of these qualities in other candidates. During a recent interview with Arise TV, Okonkwo took a swipe at the incumbent Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for joining the administration led by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Expressing his belief that Wike’s move signifies the dwindling influence of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nigerian politics, Okonkwo echoed Peter Obi’s recent statement that the Labour Party is poised to assume the role of the country’s primary opposition party.

Recalling the campaign period, Okonkwo emphasized that Peter Obi was the sole architect of a seven-point agenda that other parties mimicked poorly. He criticized the lack of understanding among presidential candidates who imitated Obi’s agenda without comprehending the intricate routes he intended to take.

With a solid agenda and considerable support across all six geopolitical zones, Okonkwo asserted that the Labour Party has firmly established itself as the primary opposition force in the nation. In Okonkwo’s words, “He (Peter Obi) has earned the accolade of being the main opposition leader, and I will tell you that he will do it effectively well pending when Nigeria would realize the dream of a new nation through him.”

In a surprising critique, Okonkwo declared the apparent non-existence of the PDP in Nigeria’s political landscape, citing Wike’s shift to the APC as evidence that the PDP has been absorbed by its political rival.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, Okonkwo’s revelations hint at a shifting paradigm, with the Labour Party emerging as a potent force challenging the established political order.
