In a recent interview on Channels TV Politics Today, Daniel Bwala, former spokesperson of Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation, revealed a game-changing plan by political associates of Abubakar Atiku.
The strategy involves forming a robust coalition of political parties for the 2027 elections with the primary aim of challenging President Bola Tinubu’s stronghold on power.
Bwala, emphasizing the inevitability of a powerful coalition, stated, “There will be a coalition of political parties that will be very strong. This is a fact I know, and I don’t want to talk about the details.” He hinted that this coalition would address internal issues within political parties and unite them against common challenges.
Discussing the formidable nature of Tinubu’s political influence, Bwala remarked, “If you want to remove Tinubu from power, you must work 23 hours and 50 minutes. You have only 10 minutes to sleep. The 10 minutes you have to sleep is when Tinubu will be sleeping.” He pointed out Tinubu’s historical strategy of neutralizing opposition within Lagos, indicating that a coalition would counteract such divisive tactics.
Bwala highlighted the potential benefits of the coalition, stating, “Once there is a coalition of the parties, some of these people that are giving the headache in the political parties would have been swallowed.” He cited examples like resolving the “Wike question” in PDP as a means to address internal issues within parties.
In response to inquiries about Atiku’s political aspirations, Bwala confidently asserted, “Sure, he [Atiku] would run. He has the capacity, he has the wisdom, he has the knowledge, he has the energy. And he is a president we never had.”
