Alex Onyia, the CEO of Educare, Africa’s leading education technology platform, has announced a significant event to honor the esteemed physicist P.N. Okeke.

In a recent post on X, Onyia shared details about a special initiative to celebrate Okeke’s contributions to science and education.

On October 30th, coinciding with Okeke’s 83rd birthday, a grand birthday celebration and book launch will take place in Enugu. During this event, Okeke will unveil five new books on Physics that have been designed to meet the needs of 21st-century learners. All co-authors will be present, marking a momentous occasion for attendees and the educational community.

“I spoke with PN Okeke this morning and received his approval to accept donations from those eager to contribute. A special account has been set up for this purpose, as seen in one of the attached images,” Onyia wrote. He further promised that more details about the event would be shared soon.

The celebration is set to feature the release of Okeke’s five newly simplified physics books, which are tailored to meet the educational needs of the 21st century. “This generation is truly lucky,” Onyia remarked, highlighting the significance of the works.

In previous tweets, Onyia has actively engaged his followers about the event, even suggesting that October 30th, P.N. Okeke’s birthday, be recognized as National Physics Day in Nigeria. He also recently hosted Okeke on a live X Space session, where they discussed the physicist’s legacy and contributions to education in West Africa.

Onyia shared the excitement of a recent video call with Okeke, where the professor, now 82, confirmed the completion of a revised and updated version of his famous physics textbook. “At 82 years old, he’s still full of energy and strong,” Onyia added. He expressed the importance of a large fundraising effort to honor Okeke and ensure his work continues to impact future generations.

The highly anticipated birthday event and book launch will mark another milestone in the legendary physicist’s career.
