Bola Ahmed Tinubu highlighted the strides made in enhancing Nigeria’s security since assuming office on May 29, 2023. Despite the tragic Plateau State massacre, he affirmed that his administration has been quietly addressing the nation’s security challenges.

Over the last seven months, the country has witnessed various cases of abductions and killings, prompting concerns about the overall security situation. Tinubu acknowledged these ongoing issues but expressed confidence that his government’s efforts have resulted in the release of captives from abductors.

While recognizing that not all security problems have been fully resolved, Tinubu assured the public that his administration is diligently working to bring peace of mind to Nigerians in their homes, workplaces, and on the roads.

Tinubu stated, “Since our administration took over, security has improved. Silently, we have worked to free captives from abductors. While we can’t claim to have solved all security problems, we are working hard to ensure peace of mind in our homes, places of work, and on the roads.”

These assurances come in the aftermath of a recent incident in Plateau State, where armed men brutally slaughtered over 100 people in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas.
