The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced the pursuit of eight individuals suspected to be involved in the tragic deaths of 17 military personnel in the Okuoma community of Ugheli South Local Government Area, Delta State.

Released through its official channels on Thursday, the DHQ shared a photo collage containing the images and names of the wanted suspects. Among those sought are Professor Ekpekpo Arthur, Igoli Ebi (Female), Akevwru Daniel Omotegbono (known as Amagbem), Akata Malawa David, Sinclear Oliki, Clement Ikolo Oghenerukevwe, Reuben Baru, and Andaowei Dennis Bakriri.

This declaration came less than 24 hours after the fallen soldiers were laid to rest at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja.

The victims, including a Commanding Officer, two Majors, one Captain, and 13 soldiers, met their tragic fate while on a peacekeeping mission aimed at quelling a communal clash between the Okuama and Okoloba communities spanning Delta and Bayelsa States.
