Voters in Ward 8, Unit 1 of Orhionmwon Local Government Area in Edo State have staged protests during the ongoing governorship election, demanding the presence of election result sheets.

The situation escalated as voters refused to cast their ballots without the necessary documentation, chanting, “no result sheet, no election,” in a video that has circulated widely on social media.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials attempted to reassure the crowd by stating that the result sheets were “on their way,” but this did little to quell the unrest.

Frustrated voters expressed their concerns regarding transparency and fairness in the electoral process, insisting that they would not proceed with voting until the required documents were provided.

This incident highlights ongoing tensions surrounding the electoral process in Edo State, where many citizens are wary of potential irregularities.

Despite INEC’s efforts to facilitate a smooth election, the absence of crucial materials has raised alarms about the integrity of the voting process.
