Edozie John Akunyili, son of the late former NAFDAC boss, Dora Akunyili, expressed his thoughts on the sacrifices his family has made for Nigeria in a recent statement.

In response to tributes for his late mother, who played a crucial role in uncovering unwholesome drink manufacturing factories in Abia, Akunyili questioned the worth of her sacrifice in the face of ongoing corruption in the country.

Akunyili lamented the constant corruption and dirty politics in Nigeria, stating that his family has given immensely for the nation. Reflecting on his mother’s dedication to her work at NAFDAC, he revealed that she delayed her fibroid hysterectomy for years, only to discover later that it was cancerous.

Expressing the pain of losing his parents, Akunyili emphasized, “We would give anything to have our parents with us, but Naija moves on with corruption and impunity from the top down seen as normalcy.”

His poignant reflections highlight concerns about the state of the nation and the perceived futility of the sacrifices made by his family.

NN News Media gathered that, despite their family’s sacrifices, he observes the prevalence of lies, corruption, and dirty politics in Nigeria, raising doubts about the meaningful impact of their sacrifices.
