Emmanuel Emeruwa, the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, has announced that Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company will supply custom official vehicles to the assembly members.

This initiative is part of Governor Alex Otti’s efforts to promote local products and strengthen the Nigerian economy.

Furthermore, Innoson, the indigenous vehicle manufacturer, plans to set up a service plant in Aba, Abia State’s commercial hub.

On Wednesday, the Speaker of the 8th Abia Assembly revealed this news after leading an assembly delegation to meet Chief Innocent Chukwuma, the CEO of Innoson Vehicles. The focus of their discussion was the ongoing production of the custom vehicles for the lawmakers. The Speaker received assurances that the vehicles would be ready for delivery in April.

Emeruwa stated, “I led an Abia State House of Assembly delegation to Chief Innocent Chukwuma, the CEO of Innoson Vehicles, at his residence in Nnewi, Anambra State, yesterday. We discussed the production of custom official vehicles for the 24 members of the Abia State House of Assembly. We were assured that these 24 official vehicles would be delivered to us by April 2024.”

The current Abia State Government is committed to supporting locally made products to boost the Naira’s value. “We are proud of Innoson Vehicles’ contributions, and the members of the Abia State House of Assembly will be honored to use their products,” said the Speaker.

In response to the unprecedented support from the Abia State government under Dr. Alex C. Otti, Innoson Vehicles has decided to establish a service plant in Abia State. Additionally, Innoson Vehicles plans to use Aba as a hub for converting vehicles to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).

This strategic visit highlights the Abia State House of Assembly’s commitment to supporting locally made products, which is crucial for the growth of the Naira and the overall Nigerian economy.
