In a recent study conducted by the research firm Numbeo, Lagos has secured the 8th position among African cities with the most commendable healthcare systems.

The comprehensive report, focusing on data related to the quality of life, positioned Cape Town and Pretoria in South Africa at the forefront, with Nairobi in Kenya claiming the third spot.

Johannesburg secured the fourth position in Numbeo’s rankings for African cities with the best healthcare, closely followed by Durban at fifth place, Algiers at sixth, and Tunis at seventh.

The report highlights a notable trend of modern, high-tech hospitals emerging in these cities, ensuring residents have access to cutting-edge medical treatments.

The Numbeo Health Index report goes on to reveal that African cities are making significant strides in various aspects of quality of life, cost of living, and other socioeconomic factors that are universally relevant to cities and countries globally.

The Health Care Index, a crucial metric used to evaluate the overall quality of healthcare systems, takes into account factors such as medical professionals, personnel, equipment, and costs.

This index provides a comprehensive assessment of the healthcare infrastructure, services, and resources available in specific areas, shedding light on the remarkable progress seen in these African cities.
