Hajiya Dada, the beloved mother of Nigeria’s late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua, has passed away.

She died on Monday evening at Katsina Teaching Hospital.

Hajiya Dada, known for her strong character and significant influence on her son’s life and presidency, was a revered figure in Nigeria. Umaru Musa Yar’adua served as President of Nigeria from 2007 until his death in 2010.

Her death has triggered a wave of condolences from across the nation, with numerous prominent figures and politicians paying their respects and honoring her memory.

In line with Islamic traditions, Hajiya Dada is expected to be laid to rest in Katsina.
