The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO) has lauded one of its employees, Auwal Dankode, for his outstanding honesty after he discovered and returned $10,000 while cleaning an aircraft in Kano.
Dankode, a native of Kano, was recognized at NAHCO’s headquarters at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos for his transparency and integrity. The incident occurred last Wednesday when Dankode, who was on duty cleaning an Egypt Air MS 878 flight at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, found the cash left behind by a passenger in seat No 25H. He promptly handed the money over to the airline’s Station Manager.
NAHCO’s Group Managing Director and CEO, Indranil Gupta, commended Dankode for embodying the company’s core values and announced several rewards for his honesty. These rewards include a substantial cash reward, an instant promotion, and an appointment as the NAHCO Brand Ambassador.
During the recognition ceremony, Gupta praised Dankode, saying, “We are truly proud of the exemplary character exhibited by Auwal. He is a true NAHCO ambassador and an embodiment of what NAHCO stands for: honesty, integrity, diligence, and hard work. We celebrate your being and we want this to be just the beginning. Let the values which your family has instilled guide you and groom you into an ideal leader, which everyone will be proud of. We urge you to continue working with very high integrity, diligence, and continue being a good NAHCO ambassador.”
Other NAHCO executives also applauded Dankode’s actions. The Chief Financial Officer, Adeoye Emiloju, highlighted that such integrity cannot be feigned, while the Chief Operating Officer, Didier Steullet, encouraged Dankode to continue on his honorable path.
As NAHCO’s newly appointed Brand Ambassador, Dankode will attend all major events organized by the company nationwide, help promote the brand, and have opportunities to travel and engage with senior officials and stakeholders
