Founding National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress Raph Nwosu has issued a strong warning that the 2027 general elections will not take place if his party is kept off the ballot papers.

Nwosu declared that the ADC has already built the numbers and structures needed to defeat President Bola Tinubu and take power next year. He made the remarks on Wednesday at a big party gathering in Abuja that pulled together young candidates contesting for different offices across Nigeria and top party leaders.

The former chairman said the opposition coalition that took over the ADC has achieved massive success in a short time. He revealed that even as he spoke some serving senators from the ruling All Progressives Congress and other parties were still negotiating to dump their parties and join the ADC.

Nwosu explained that the coalition did everything the right way with no mistakes made. He blamed the current problems inside the party on the deep culture of impunity that controls Nigerian politics. He stressed that this dirty system is tough to change but a small group of determined people can succeed.

With the huge support the ADC now commands the achievements are too strong to destroy he said. Any attempt to kill the party would amount to trying to kill Nigeria’s democracy and that will not happen. The party has put strong strategies in place to protect its position.

Nwosu made it clear that leaders who love impunity and think they can play God always fight hardest when they know their time is finished. He stated directly that the time is over for President Tinubu and he must go. The same applies to Senate President Godswill Akpabio and others like him.

The ADC portal already shows more than five million people ready to pay and become members. When registration ends the party expects at least eleven million committed members who will contribute money to push the campaign.

Nwosu added that Tinubu and INEC Chairman Joash Ojo Amupitan cannot successfully conduct any election in Nigeria if the ADC is not allowed on the ballot.

This strong position comes as the David Mark-led ADC faction continues to face serious internal crisis. The gathering showed the growing strength and determination of the ADC as it prepares to challenge the ruling party in 2027.
