The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) has expressed serious concerns over the accidental bombing in Tudun Biri, Kaduna State, by the Nigerian Army, leading to civilian casualties.

The NEF condemned the incident and called for a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.

 The forum emphasized the need for the military to prioritize the safety of civilians in its operations and urged the government to take immediate measures to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.

In light of the incident that led to the loss of numerous innocent lives, the NEF, through its Director of Publicity and Advocacy, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, is emphasizing the importance of civilian safety in conflict zones.

According to NEF in a statement called for a thorough investigation into the accidental bombing in Tudun Biri, Kaduna State, by the Nigerian Army.

They emphasized the importance of justice for the affected civilians and preventing future occurrences.

The forum acknowledged the commitment of the Kaduna State government to compensate the victims and urged a comprehensive inquiry to identify causes, negligence, or misconduct.

NEF emphasized that the investigation could lead to necessary reforms, improving coordination, intelligence gathering, and adherence to rules of engagement to minimize the risk of accidental bombings and protect civilian lives during military operations.
