Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s anticipated presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, has extended his commendations to Nigerian students from Christ The King College, Onitsha, Anambra State.

The students recently achieved the remarkable feat of securing both the National Champions and Regional Top honors in the Africa Regional competition of the esteemed World Affairs Challenge (WAC). This international program and competition are hosted by WorldDenver.

Expressing his delight on his X social media handle, Peter Obi stated, “I am pleased by the news of Nigerian students from Christ The King College, Onitsha, who have recently clinched the global awards of National Champions and Regional Top in the Africa Regional competition of the prestigious World Affairs Challenge (WAC). Their winning project, Wize Tales by Primus, is a testament to their commitment to contributing solutions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, aiming to empower Nigerian youths to become active agents of change in society.”

Obi continued to congratulate the students for not only bringing honor to the nation but also reinforcing his advocacy for increased investment in education. He emphasized the potential of Nigeria’s naturally gifted and talented youth to excel on the global stage with the right educational training and a conducive environment.

Recalling his previous role as the Governor of Anambra State, Obi mentioned the return of Christ The King College, Onitsha, to its original owners, the Church, and noted the school’s continuous growth in educational standards. He expressed gratitude to the proprietor, management, and teachers of the college for their dedication to equipping Nigerian students with the necessary learning and character.
