Abia State, under the leadership of Governor Alex Otti, has introduced a new emblem and logo, marking a significant step in the state’s branding journey.

The Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Chinedu Okeke, shared the news on Facebook, emphasizing the need for a logo revamp to boost the state’s brand identity.

The previous logo, according to Okeke, was a mere collection of images from Corel Draw and clip arts. The new design, however, is the work of globally acclaimed heraldic designers. Okeke pointed out that the new logo aligns with the national crests of many developed nations in its distinctiveness.

Interestingly, the creation of the new Abia logo was cost-free for the government. The logo showcases a stylized “A”, formed by two curved lines, symbolizing the state’s name and the concept of unity and togetherness.

The color scheme is also meaningful, with green denoting fertility and abundance, and white standing for peace and purity. The logo also includes an eagle perched on a shield, with the state’s motto, “God’s Own State”, inscribed underneath. The eagle signifies strength, courage, and pride, while the shield symbolizes protection and defense. The motto underscores the state’s faith in divine guidance and blessings.
