Labour Party’s 2023 Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, was honored on March 21, during Madonna University’s Silver Jubilee Celebration at their main campus in Elele, Rivers State.
Expressing his delight, Obi commended the institution’s 25 years of steady educational growth and emphasized the invaluable contributions of education to society.
He was awarded for his support during his tenure as Governor of Anambra State, where he facilitated infrastructure development and provided financial aid to the university.
Obi reiterated his belief in education as the cornerstone of national progress and praised the innovative leadership of Madonna University’s founder, Rev Fr. Prof. Emmanuel Edeh, urging students to prioritize both academic and character development.
He emphasized that investment in education, health, and poverty alleviation is pivotal for Nigeria’s advancement, envisioning a brighter future for the nation.
