Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, celebrated the 10th anniversary of Holy Rosary College, Nsugbe, and the 100th anniversary of the Holy Rosary Sisters, through a heartfelt statement on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
In his message, Obi recalled laying the foundation for Holy Rosary College in 2013, while commending the Sisters’ century-long dedication to education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation.
To support their ongoing efforts, Obi pledged ₦120 million over the next two years, allocating ₦100 million to their headquarters in Enugu for educational, healthcare, and humanitarian work, and ₦20 million to Holy Rosary College, Nsugbe. This contribution is part of redeeming a cheque he signed towards the end of his governorship, which was later canceled by his successor.
Obi emphasized his enduring commitment to education and healthcare, urging the Sisters to continue their non-discriminatory service to humanity. He reaffirmed his belief that progress in these sectors is essential to Nigeria’s development, promising to champion these causes moving forward.
