Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, shared a heartfelt statement on January 1, 2025, detailing his New Year engagements.
Early in the morning, Obi visited the IDP camp in Durumi, Abuja, to spend time with the residents and understand their challenges. During his visit, he provided financial support and promised to do more to ease their burdens. This visit allowed him to connect directly with those affected by displacement and listen to their stories. Obi emphasized the need for more inclusive policies to address the challenges faced by internally displaced persons, highlighting their resilience in the face of adversity.
Later that day, Obi revisited the Tungamadaki Primary Healthcare Center in Abuja, where he had previously contributed to repairing the roof and improving other facilities. This return visit was an opportunity to inspect the installations and reaffirm his commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure in deprived communities. Satisfied with the repairs so far, Obi promised additional support to further enhance the center’s capacity to deliver essential services.
Obi reiterated his dedication to ensuring access to quality healthcare and making tangible contributions toward that goal. He concluded with a hopeful message, stating that a new, healthy Nigeria is within reach if everyone remains committed.
