Labour Party Leader Peter Obi has called on President Bola Tinubu to visit all 36 states to see firsthand how inflation has driven many Nigerians into poverty.

During a media chat on Thursday in Abuja, Obi urged Tinubu to outline specific steps to reduce inflation from the current 34.6% to 15% in the New Year, urging the President to move beyond rhetoric.

Obi also recommended that Tinubu visit each of Nigeria’s 36 states for two days to gain a firsthand understanding of the severe economic and security challenges facing citizens.

During his first media briefing of the year in Abuja, Obi expressed concern that many Nigerians have become refugees and exiles in their own country.

He offered alternative solutions to address Nigeria’s governance issues, including the tax reform bills currently before the National Assembly.

Obi also criticized the persecution of opposition figures, noting that the political climate for opposition has become increasingly toxic.
