Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, shared a statement about his recent visits to prominent figures in Nigeria.
Yesterday, Obi traveled from Abuja to Lagos to visit former President Olusegun Obasanjo, whom he regards as a father figure and leader. He wished Obasanjo a happy new year and discussed various national issues. Obi expressed his appreciation for Obasanjo’s fatherly advice and guidance, noting that under Obasanjo’s leadership, Nigeria experienced significant growth. He wished Obasanjo and his family good health and happiness in the new year, acknowledging Obasanjo’s continued contributions to national development.
Following his meeting with Obasanjo, Obi visited his younger brother, Dele Farotimi, who recently returned from the correctional center in Ekiti. Obi was pleased to find Farotimi in good spirits and encouraged by his dedication to the struggle for a better Nigeria. He praised Farotimi’s courage and commitment to good governance, wishing him a productive year as they continue to work together for the country’s development.
