A plane carrying President Donald J. Trump last weekend made an emergency landing in New Orleans after experiencing engine troubles, Politico reported.
Sources tell the outlet that one of the plane’s engines began to fail when crossing the Gulf of Mexico en route to West Palm Beach, Florida, home to President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.
After spending just minutes in the air, the pilot made a decisive call to turn the plane around last Saturday to head back to the New Orleans airport, its point of origin, for a safe landing.
President Trump visited the Louisiana city to headline a Republican National Committee fundraiser last weekend, Politico reported.
However, the 45th president is safe and sound. After changing planes, he made a safe landing in West Palm Beach early Sunday morning.
President Trump has not yet weighed in on the news.
