The Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has called for a free, fair and transparent 2027 general election in Nigeria, saying credible elections are key to building a stable country.

The Sultan made this known through a statement issued by Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, who serves as Secretary General of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam.

He also urged calm in global conflicts, especially the tensions involving Iran, United States and Israel, calling for de escalation and peace across troubled regions of the world.

According to the Sultan, peace, stability and security are necessary globally, warning that ongoing wars can lead to food shortages and harm the world economy.

He congratulated Muslims on the completion of the 1447 AH 2026 Ramadan fast and the celebration of Eid el Fitr, praying for peace, joy and blessings. He asked Allah to accept their fasting, prayers and good deeds, and to continue to show mercy in the months ahead.

The Sultan also reminded Muslims about the six day Shawwal fast that follows Ramadan and encouraged continued prayers for protection and relief from hardships, especially as the 2027 elections draw closer.

He called on all stakeholders to reflect and work hard to ensure credible elections, stressing that a stable Nigeria must exist before good governance can happen.

Speaking on conflicts, he said wars bring destruction, damage human development and weaken economies. He warned that prolonged conflicts could disrupt global food supply and increase poverty, which would be especially dangerous for a country like Nigeria.
