Terrorists have killed 11 persons in Niger communities between Sunday and Monday, The Nation can report. 

The Nation learnt that three soldiers, four Vigilantes and four villagers were killed in the attacks that occurred in Mariga and Paikoro local government areas of Niger State. 

In Mariga, the terrorists ambushed and killed three soldiers and vigilantes in Kwanan Dutse community. 

The security agents were said to have been on patrol when the terrorists ambushed them. 

Several others were injured during the attack. 

In Paikoro local government area, four persons, including a 20-year-old boy were killed and several others injured when the terrorists attacked Ishau, Kuna, Amale, Adunu, Kudami communities. 

It was gathered the residents were shocked by the attack said to be the first in the communities. 

The Nation learnt about the terrorists, who were about 80, armed with sophisticated weapons would have killed more but for vigilantes who resisted and forced them to retreat to the forests. 

The injured people are receiving treatment in Kafinkoro. 

Attempts to confirm the attack from the Niger police spokesman DSP Abiodun Wasiu and Chairman of Paikoro local government Mallam Yohana Yakubu failed.
