Senator Magnus Abe has announced his intention to work alongside FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to secure President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

According to him Wike’s support was instrumental in securing Tinubu’s victory by delivering Rivers State.

Abe, who recently rejoined the All-Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, believes that Wike’s support was instrumental in the party’s victory in the state.

Abe Recalls Amaechi’s Opposition to His Governorship Ambitions

During a meeting with his supporters in Port Harcourt, Abe reminisced about his past conflicts with former Governor Rotimi Amaechi. He claimed that Amaechi actively worked to undermine the APC in Rivers State due to Abe’s ambition to contest the governorship in 2015 and 2019.

Abe Emphasizes the Importance of Reconciliation

Abe stressed that he is comfortable working with Wike, whom he considers a friend. He revealed that he had made efforts to convince Wike, while he was still the Governor, to support Tinubu in Rivers State. Abe believes that without Wike’s support, Tinubu would not have won in Rivers State.

Abe Supports APC Lawmakers in Rivers State

The former governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2023 general elections reiterated his support for the 27 APC lawmakers in the Rivers State House of Assembly. He stated that he will always defend his party and called for peace in the state.

Abe Confident in Tinubu’s Re-election Prospects

Abe expressed his belief that the North will support President Tinubu’s eight-year term in 2027, as they are unlikely to support someone who will run for another eight years. He is convinced that Tinubu’s re-election will be secured through the collaboration of Wike and the APC in Rivers State.
