Former Nigerian lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has said that the supporters of the Labour Party, LP, better known as ‘Obidients’, are what Nigeria needs for the country’s nascent democracy to thrive.

He said the Obidients are giving the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, a tough time as they have become a bone stuck in their neck.

Sani, a social critic, in a tweet on Wednesday, opined that if the supporters of the party were removed from the political space, the country would become dictatorship.

He stated that the actions of the Obidients are why the nation has been saved from tyranny.

Recall that the candidate of LP is challenging the declaration of Bola Tinubu of the All-Progressives Congress, APC, as the winner of the February 25 election.

He wrote, “If you remove the supporters of the Labour Party from Nigeria’s political space, we will all have the peace and tranquillity we want and the tyranny we don’t want.”
