Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, expressed remorse during a grand civic reception at Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area.

He urged forgiveness from the community over his selection of Governor Siminalaye Fubara as his successor. Emphasizing gratitude, Wike reminded attendees that acknowledging those who elevate us is crucial.

Addressing the gathering at St. Martins Church Field in Ogu town, Wike highlighted the role of individuals as instruments of divine assistance, condemning ingratitude. He clarified that while he never sought worship, appreciation for support is essential in politics.

Wike humbly acknowledged his fallibility, urging forgiveness for past errors and assuring corrective measures. He reassured Arnold, the local lawmaker, of his support, asserting that political maneuvers are part of the job.

Asserting his resilience against detractors, Wike reassured the audience of his unwavering position. He urged calmness amid challenges, promising resolution in due time.

Undeterred by criticism, Wike pledged continued support for Ogu/Bolo, citing his efforts to recognize local traditions. However, he admonished ungrateful traditional rulers and stressed the importance of maintaining peace and following due process.

In his closing remarks, Wike reiterated his commitment to the welfare of Ogu/Bolo, urging adherence to the law and peaceful coexistence.
