The District Head of Vwang, in Plateau State, Da Gyang Balak has been reportedly kidnapped by gunmen.

Da Balak is the second traditional ruler to be kidnapped in the State in less than a month.

Although details of his abduction are sketchy. According to multiple media reports, the traditional ruler was kidnapped on Sunday night around the Kuru community where the National Institute For Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS is located.

He was said to be returning to Vom where his palace is located before he was intercepted on the way by the gunmen.

Meanwhile, the Military information officer under the umbrella of Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major Ishaku Takwa confirmed the incident but noted that, “Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN in conjunction with other security agencies are on trail of the kidnappers. God’s willing, the security agencies will soon close up on the criminals.”
