The Governor of Imo Sate, Hope Uzodinma announced the establishment of a security outfit code-named – ‘North East West (NEW)’ for the state.
He said the era of “executive lawlessness and neo-feudalism, in the state is gone forever”, according to a statement by Oguwike Nwachuku, his chief press secretary, the governor listed policy measures that his administration intends to apply to achieve the dream of a “new Imo”.
NN News finding facts shows that the only governor in the Southeast region who established Ebubeagu was Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State.
Inaugurating the security Outfit at a colourful ceremony which held at Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium in Abakaliki, Governor Umahi noted that the security Outfit was formed following a call by people of the zone for a security Outfit that will assist the police and other security agencies in fighting crime across the region.
