Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2023 off-cycle election in Kogi, posted a video showing electoral officials engaged in the act of thumb-printing ballot papers.

Melaye alleged that the electoral officials pre-filled ballot papers to manipulate the results in favor of Usman Ododo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, to secure victory in Kogi State’s governorship election held on November 11.

Melaye accused an Electoral Officer in Okehi LGA of facilitating the thumb-printing of ballot papers for the APC candidate, Usman Ododo, to meet predetermined figures.

Melaye shared a video of electoral officials engaging in this activity. While it wasn’t specified which party the official was supporting, he highlighted the incident as part of alleged widespread rigging during the Kogi State election.

He opted not to vote in protest, claiming INEC’s complicity and expressing distrust in the judiciary, stating it had become a tool for powerful forces, making contesting the election outcome in court unviable.
