Former Senator Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central, has criticized the Nigerian Army’s airstrikes on a crowd celebrating Maulud in Tudun Biri village, Kaduna State.

The incident, resulting in over 120 casualties, was initially termed accidental and aimed at bandits.

In an interview with Trust TV’s Daily Politics, Sani, dismissing it as professional negligence, highlights the government’s failure to address recurring bandit and terrorist attacks in the region.

He insists on an unreserved apology from the Army and urges federal and state governments to take proactive measures to prevent future tragedies.

Sani emphasizes the need for cautious military operations in civilian areas, citing the history of attacks in Kaduna, and asserts that the government must address the root causes of insecurity in the state.
