President Bola Tinubu has given the green light for a monumental N12 billion payout to settle outstanding payments for the Super Eagles and various national teams across different sports.

As revealed in an official statement from Bola Ahmed Tinubu Media Center, the substantial sum will cover senior national team coach salaries for a whopping 15 months, along with settling allowances and unfulfilled promises owed to the senior national teams, female athletes, and the Under-20 national team.

The statement affirms, “President @officialABAT has approved the payment of N12 billion, addressing the lingering backlog for Nigeria’s National teams in various sports, including the revered Super Eagles.”

This financial injection comes at a crucial juncture as the Super Eagles gear up for their participation in the imminent Africa Cup of Nations, set to kick off later this month.

Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring the financial well-being of the national teams underscores a powerful boost for Nigerian sports and sets the stage for a triumphant journey on the international stage.
