Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has announced a significant decrease in banditry, with a reduction of approximately 70% over the past year.

This achievement, he explained, is the result of a strong collaboration between local security forces and traditional security agencies throughout the state.

During a recent working visit to Yola, Governor Radda shared these insights with the press. He emphasized the importance of incorporating state police forces into the national strategy to combat insecurity. “We’ve managed to cut down banditry rates by 60 to 70%. The current challenge is the aggressive tactics employed by bandits, who target remote villages near forests, causing destruction and loss of life. However, we have formulated strategies to counteract this,” he stated.

Governor Radda also highlighted that many developing nations have state police forces that play a crucial role in safeguarding citizens and their properties. He called upon all levels of government to prioritize education as a key factor in Nigeria’s development. “This will provide less privileged individuals with the opportunity to receive quality education at all levels,” he added.
