Veteran Nigerian musician Eedris Abdulkareem has ignited a firestorm with his scathing lyrical onslaught, lambasting the crippling economic woes gripping Nigerians.

In a viral video clip that has set tongues wagging across social media platforms, the outspoken hip-hop singer and rapper didn’t mince words as he dared Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), to display the same vocal courage against President Bola Tinubu’s government as he did towards previous administrations.

Abdulkareem vehemently reminded the public of Pastor Adeboye’s bold stance during the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan administration when he organized a one million-man march to protest the state of the nation. Now, facing the current economic challenges, the singer emphasizes the urgency of speaking truth to power, directly labeling Adeboye’s purported silence on the current administration as blatant hypocrisy.

“Our Daddy, Pastor Adeboye, during Goodluck Jonathan, your voice was so loud. You even vowed to stage one million marches. Yet, hunger and hardship under Tinubu’s government persist, and you ‘say’ Nigeria has a spiritual problem. Baba, we need your one million disciples to protest against President Tinubu’s government, just as you did against President Jonathan. Is your silence now a sign of hypocrisy? It’s time to address the suffering that threatens Nigerians,” Abdulkareem passionately expressed in the video clip.

The release of this video has ignited a fierce debate on social media, with some urging religious leaders to actively engage in political discourse and take decisive stands on critical national issues. However, there has also been backlash against the artiste, criticizing him for audaciously targeting Pastor Adeboye in his song
