On Thursday, Adamawa State witnessed a significant youth-led protest with hundreds taking to the streets.

This demonstration was part of a larger nationwide movement against hunger, which saw diverse reactions across the country.

In Adamawa, the protest took on a unique character as it unfolded under the interchange flyover, previously known as the police roundabout. The gathering revealed a notable division among the youth, with one faction expressing dissatisfaction with current government policies and advocating for the reinstatement of subsidies, while another faction voiced their support for President Tinubu’s administration.

Protesters were seen holding a range of placards, with the pro-Tinubu group displaying banners that read, “We are solidly behind President Tinubu’s policy.” Meanwhile, the opposing group chanted for the return of the subsidy.

Despite the apparent divide, the protest was marked by a peaceful atmosphere, and traffic in the area flowed without major disruptions.
