Atedo Peterside, founder of Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc, has raised concerns over inconsistencies in the voter turnout from the recently concluded Edo State governorship election.

According to Peterside, sample polling unit results showed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) reported over 98.5% voter turnout in certain areas, which starkly contrasts with the state-wide turnout of 22.2%.

Taking to social media on Thursday, Peterside urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other stakeholders to challenge the suspicious results. He shared data allegedly sourced from the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) IREV platform, indicating that some polling units reported more votes for the APC than there were accredited voters.

“Edo Governorship Elections; In sample Polling Unit results from @inecnigeria IREV shown below, @OfficialAPCNg recorded more votes than total no. of accredited voters or they achieved over 98.5% voter turnout versus a State-wide turnout of 22.2%,” Peterside tweeted, tagging prominent figures and calling for action from all concerned citizens.
