A recent video captures Abia Federal House of Representatives member Alex Ikwechegh allegedly assaulting a delivery driver and threatening severe consequences.

In the video, Ikwechegh is seen slapping the driver twice and boldly claiming he could “lock him up” and “make him disappear,” with “nothing happening” as a result.

The confrontation reportedly began when the driver, who had been dispatched to deliver a package, requested that Ikwechegh come outside to collect it—a suggestion Ikwechegh reportedly found disrespectful. The lawmaker had expected the driver to bring the item directly into his residence in the upscale Maitama area of Abuja.

When the driver declined and asked to be paid for his services, the situation escalated quickly, becoming both verbally and physically aggressive. Throughout the altercation, the driver appeared to remain calm, even as Ikwechegh allegedly responded with both verbal threats and physical aggression.

Ikwechegh has yet to release a statement addressing the incident at the time of this report.
