General (President0 Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to return to Nigeria today, Monday, following an extended stay abroad that began on April 2.

The announcement was made by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a brief Facebook post.

Initially scheduled as a two-week retreat in Paris, France, for the purpose of reviewing his administration’s midterm progress and milestones, the president’s stay stretched into a third week. The presidency later confirmed that Tinubu had relocated to London during the trip.

Onanuga assured Nigerians that the president remained actively involved in governance throughout his time overseas, maintaining regular contact with key government officials.

This latest journey comes just two months after another private visit to France, adding to a growing list of over 30 international trips since President Tinubu assumed office on May 29, 2023.

The extended absence had sparked conversation online, prompting the presidency to reassure the public of Tinubu’s continued engagement with national affairs despite being physically away.
