The dreams of three brilliant young Nigerian girls have soared beyond borders, thanks to their academic excellence and a transformative opportunity granted by the Atiku Abubakar Foundation (AAF).

Nafisa Abdullahi, Rukaiya Mohammed Fema, and Khadija Kashim Kalli emerged as global winners at the prestigious TeenEagle Global Finals, an international academic competition that celebrates intelligence, innovation, and critical thinking among teenagers. Their outstanding performance did not go unnoticed.

In recognition of their achievement, the Atiku Abubakar Foundation has awarded each of them a fully funded scholarship not just for a year or two, but a comprehensive educational sponsorship that covers the remainder of their secondary education and the entirety of their university studies at any institution of their choice, anywhere in the world.

This life-changing scholarship comes as a powerful affirmation of the girls’ potential and a bold statement on the importance of investing in the future of Nigerian youth, particularly girls from underserved communities.

In a letter addressed to the winners, the AAF reaffirmed its commitment to breaking educational barriers and ensuring that brilliance does not go unsupported due to economic or social limitations.

The Atiku Abubakar Foundation, the philanthropic initiative of Nigeria’s former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has long prioritized education as a cornerstone for national development, with a particular focus on empowering girls and other vulnerable populations.

“When you invest in the education of a girl child, you are invariably investing in the education of a prospective family and community,” Atiku Abubakar said, echoing his long-standing belief in the power of educating young women.

This landmark scholarship not only validates the girls’ hard work but also sets an inspiring example across Nigeria and beyond proving that with talent, dedication, and the right support, even the most ambitious dreams can become reality.

As Nafisa, Rukaiya, and Khadija step confidently into the next phase of their academic journey, they carry with them the hopes of many and the power to shape a brighter future not just for themselves, but for the nation.
