A major political storm is building around President Bola Tinubu after fresh accusations linked his government to secrecy, election manipulation, and weak action against terrorism in Nigeria.

Von Batten Montague York L.C. released a strong statement on X claiming the Nigerian government only recently began sharing terrorist locations with the United States after former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other political voices raised alarm over alleged plans to rig the upcoming presidential election.

According to the statement, several discussions held over the weekend revealed that President Donald Trump and other international figures are not convinced that President Tinubu is fully committed to defeating terrorism in Nigeria. There are growing fears that the government’s sudden cooperation with the United States is only temporary and designed to improve its image before the election.

The statement also referenced reports accusing National Security Advisor Nuhu Ribadu of directing military leaders to hide information about terrorist attacks until after the election period. The allegation has added more pressure on the Tinubu administration as Nigerians continue to demand answers over worsening insecurity across the country.

While welcoming the recent military strikes against terrorist groups, critics questioned why stronger cooperation with the United States did not happen earlier. They argued that thousands of innocent Nigerians may have been protected if these actions had started years ago instead of during an election season.

The accusations have intensified political tension ahead of the next presidential election, with opposition figures accusing the government of focusing more on staying in power than protecting citizens from deadly attacks.

Many Nigerians are now watching closely to see whether the Tinubu administration responds directly to the growing controversy or dismisses the claims as political attacks.
