The Imo State chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has declared support for the candidacy of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, for the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.
Imo IPAC made the declaration in a letter of political alliance intent dated January 14 and addressed to the Big Tent Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign’s National Coordinator, through the Imo State Coordinator of Big Tent.
The organization said that it formed the political alliance with Big Tent, an independent presidential campaign council for the Obi-Datti election project, to ensure that the presidential candidate of Labour Party, HE Peter Obi is delivered in Imo State come the election.
In the letter jointly signed by IPAC Chairman, Elder Chief Ahaneku A.D.U. and the Secretary, Barr. Nlem I.U.K, tagged “Political Alliance“, IPAC stated:
“After a brainstorming meeting yesterday the 13th January, 2023, with the officials of the Imo State Big Tent Independent Presidential Campaign Council for Obi-Datti led by the Coordinator, Dr. Fabian Ihekweme, we the underlisted 7 Political Parties out of the G12 Imo IPAC agreed to partner and work as a team for the purpose of ensuring that Peter Obi massively wins Imo State come 25th of February 2023.
“All the Agents of the underlisted Political Parties shall join hands with the Big Tent to deliver the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party HE Peter Obi in Imo State, [as] our resolve.
“Therefore, we are looking forward to activate this process through an immediate dedicated robust further discussion, human and material integration with dispatch bearing in mind that time is of essence.
“The make-up of the 7-member Political Parties from Imo IPAC G12 are as follows:
- Barr. Nlem I.U.K, State Chairman, ADC, Imo State
- Elder Ibe ThankGod, State Chairman, Accord Party, Imo State
- Hon Diala, State Chairman, YPP Imo State
- Prince Okoafor Anyanwu Marshall, State Chairman, APP Imo State
