The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of attempting to undermine the Edo State governorship election by pressuring the military to withdraw from collation centers.

With polling results already being collated from various units and local governments, PDP’s State Chairman, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, claimed on Saturday that the APC is using this tactic to clear the way for thugs and corrupt police officers to disrupt the process.

“We have learned that the APC is mobilizing thugs to interfere with the collation. They are pushing the military to pull out, trying to ensure their devious plans succeed,” Aziegbemi stated.

According to him, the APC is in panic mode as results favor the PDP, and is now activating “sleeper cells” to sabotage the collation process. He further suggested that the APC’s backup plan involves calling for the election process to be canceled to avoid the embarrassment of defeat.

Aziegbemi urged democratic supporters to remain vigilant. “We call on all democracy lovers to keep a close watch,” he concluded.
