The administration of US President Donald Trump has reportedly been informed that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is the only political leader with the experience, leadership strength, and national acceptance needed to stop the ongoing killings across Nigeria and reunite the country.
The message was delivered during high level discussions involving representatives linked to the Atiku campaign and victims of attacks against Christian communities in Nigeria who were holding talks with officials connected to US President Donald Trump’s administration.
According to the statement released by Von Batten Montague York, L.C., concerns were raised over worsening insecurity, continued bloodshed, and growing fears among Christian communities affected by violent attacks across different parts of the country, accusing terrorists and powerful political figures within President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government of fueling violence against Christians across Nigeria.
They said that Atiku possesses the political maturity and national credibility required to unite both Northern and Southern Nigeria while restoring stability and public confidence in the country’s leadership.
The group said innocent Nigerians are being murdered while the country faces growing insecurity, especially in Christian dominated areas. They claimed terrorists and their alleged political backers inside the current Nigerian government have effectively launched a war against Christians.
Von Batten Montague York further alleged that the Tinubu administration is complicit in the ongoing killings and warned that the government must not be allowed to manipulate or rig the next general election.
The remarks are expected to intensify political tensions in Nigeria as concerns continue to grow over insecurity, religious violence, and the country’s political future ahead of the upcoming elections.
