A United States based group has accused Nigeria’s National Security Advisor Nuhu Ribadu of allegedly downplaying the scale of killings and insecurity in Nigeria during high level meetings in Washington.
The accusation was made by Dr. Von Batten-Montague-York, who claimed Ribadu gave American officials the impression that Christians in Nigeria were safe despite continuing attacks across several communities.
The group quoted concerns from Congressman Riley Moore. The Nigerian government under Bola Tinubu stopped a military coup in a neighboring country. Yet it cannot protect Christian children at home from slaughter by so called illiterate herdsmen. These attackers somehow carry expensive assault rifles and drive brand new trucks.
Von Batten-Montague-York L C plans to contact Vice President JD Vance a devout Catholic. They want to set the record straight with these facts. Under Nuhu Ribadu and President Bola Tinubu watch 8500 Catholics were murdered. Forty Catholic priests were kidnapped. Ninety Catholic churches were burned to the ground.
It’s also said, this week he joined a meeting between Atiku campaign members and the President Donald Trump administration. They discussed key issues. Insecurity and election integrity stood out as two connected problems. These issues hurt all Nigerians whether Christian or Muslim.
Dr Von Batten felt angry after learning that Nuhu Ribadu was sent to convince JD Vance and Secretary Rubio that Christians in Nigeria face no problems. The briefing left out suffering faced by Muslims too.
The statement says the Nigerian government under Tinubu has failed every Nigerian. It fails Christians and Muslims alike. The government seems more busy reacting to critics than fixing problems. It ignores the need for a better future and stops further bloodshed.
Von Batten maintained that Christian lives matter. Muslim lives matter. This message stays strong in all meetings and reviews. Nigeria needs leadership capable of restoring peace, rebuilding trust, and uniting citizens across regional and religious divides which is Atiku.
